PAST EVENTS

2nd session of "HRD Lecture Series: Textile " was held on 08 APR 2019 at the "Cultural Research Institute" within Ambedkar Bhavan, Kancurgachi, Kolkata. It was an initiative of "Ethnic Art of Banga" - a wing of ‘West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development & Finance Corporation’ and organised by Gurusaday Museum . The session was delivered by Ms. Mahua Lahiri, Guest Lecturer NIFT, Kolkata with focus "Textile History and its present condition".

Mukherjee (extreme left) was invited to deliver the two days "HRD Lecture Series: Printing", with focus on the history of the development of printing and the various technologies existing now that would benefit the artisans. The photo was taken on the 2nd day. Various artisans and artists attended the event.

Gurusaday Museum organised a two-day Seminar and artisans’ workshop on ‘Sir Gurusaday Dutt and his contribution towards subaltern society’ on 14 and 15 February 2019 at Gurusaday Museum, Joka, Kolkata. The seminar and the workshop were arranged with all-round support by the ‘West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development & Finance Corporation’. The event was a special opportunity for the Corporation to pay homage to Sir Gurusaday Dutt at his own place, working with own men and the artisans of Ethnic Arts of Bengal.
